Bringing Populations Together
What’s special about Choice in Learning is our relationship with our next door neighbors at Choice in Aging. Choice in Aging is a nonprofit that benefits seniors in many ways and also houses several Adult Day Programs. Integrating Choice in Learning students with participants in the Adult Day Programs is the core of our intergenerational program. Not only do the participants light up when they see the children, but the students also get to learn that there is value in our aging population. Together, the two groups will play balloon volleyball, sing together, read together, and perhaps even lunch together. This model of learning and activities is evidence-based and has proven that the level of joy increases for both populations, making this endeavor a huge win-win!
